Using decontextualized games to learn concepts vital to volleyball success can add a varied learning strategy, reduce learning pressure, and deepen understanding.
Games such as Gravitee 2 integrate angular velocity which is vital for setters to understand how to get the ball to the exact location at the exact time so the hitter can be successful. How we currently teach this concept is first, setting the ball without the hitter and trying to hit a target. Then, we add the hitter in which adds a lot of pressure because of the feedback given to the setter is based off of their teammates results. Games sucha s Gravitee 2 allow for result feedback without the pressure and feelings of judgement when learning this concpet within a team setting.
