Refugee Volleyball Clinic

Using a social issue that was current in our community, our team was tasked with creating a community service project.A local organization shared with our team that activities for younger female refugees was lacking.To address the issue our team created a free Volleyball Clinic for the refugees that had been relocated to the city of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our team took sole responsibility for collaborating with the community organization to plan and promote the clinic. They used the digital age tool of social media to promote the event prior and share the experience post event.Using the social media platform, they were able to create cultural understanding and global awareness for the social issue of refugees in our community.
